🙏 Intentional and intuitive movement. Guided journaling. Scientifically-backed breathing techniques. Restorative meditation. Curated music. 🎵 Supportive community. 💛

I teach a style of yoga that invites freedom of movement within a framework of stability and an understanding that human anatomy can vary from one individual to the next. If you’ve taken a Vinyasa style class, you may see some similarities. If you’ve ever danced around your house to a favorite song, you should feel quite at home. If you’re new to all of this, that’s also perfect. All levels welcome. Subscribe to my newsletter to learn about new online and in-person (Tucson-based) offerings.

💕 Testimonials from Past Students 💕

“Kelly is a thoughtful and dedicated teacher. She provides context and content to support the day's movement, from journaling to meditation and breathing exercises. She shows up as herself and you feel her authenticity in the courses she develops. My absolute favorite offer of Kelly's are her playlists, paired perfectly with each week's class to encourage that you really get lost (found?) in the flow of the yoga and the movement. These are playlists I'll return to again and again. They remind me of the joy of breaking randomly into dance in the kitchen, but also carry the weight of contemplation at times. Kelly offers something wholehearted, something rich, a delicately packaged gift for each class, to unbundle and embrace. Thank you, Kelly!” - MN, Look Before You Leap student

Picking up a yoga practice for the first time ever was one of the most wonderful parts of 2020 for me. It took a pandemic and the upheaval of our lives “going virtual” to remove the last barriers (i.e. excuses) for me to give it a try. I’m so glad to have done so, and love learning from Kelly each and every week.

Kelly has an amazing ability to reach through the internet and create a lovely and warm virtual space that builds community, challenges yogis and sparks thought – all at the same time. Her workshop and classes helped me improve both my personal journaling and yoga practices at a time when I felt very stuck. I am always grateful to spend time on my mat with Kelly!

“Just wanted to take a minute to express how much I loved the Practice Not Perfect program. It was just what I needed: the pace, frequency, time commitment, and themes all worked so well for me. Who knew it was possible to look forward to anything on a December Monday morning?? But I really did! I learned through the format about what helps me stick to my home practice and what I really like: a set time, doing it in the morning, and journaling right after. I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed it, and how much I feel I'm still benefiting and will continue to benefit from it.” - Leeann, Practice Not Perfect student

I was so new to yoga when I went to my first class with Kelly Barrett that she had to teach me the difference between a Warrior 1 and a Warrior 2. After six months of taking her classes, I’d fallen so in love with yoga that I booked a trip abroad for a week-long retreat. Two years later, I still find Kelly’s classes a both calming and challenging. I’m a devoted student.

"This was such a great practice for me. In the beginning I had a TON of resistance to being in certain poses, and sometimes just doing the practice at all. It helped me realize that I've been having that feeling in other areas of my life, and that recognizing it is 1) important and 2) often the first step towards doing something impactful. Even thought I mainly did the classes the day after, I was fairly consistent in doing them in the evenings and that gave me some solid structure to my day, which was much needed. Thanks so much for putting this together!" - Practice Not Perfect student
