Hi, I’m Kelly.

I’m a writer, yoga/meditation/intuitive movement instructor (Yoga Alliance ERYT-200) and digital communications professional.

When I started my career in public relations twelve years ago, working under chronic stress was entirely normalized, if not encouraged. To cope, I started going to the yoga studio across from my building — sometimes going right back to the office after practice until late into the evening. Eventually, I began to integrate yoga’s lessons into my daily life, setting myself on a path that not only improved my mental health, but also renewed my spirit and improved my work performance and career trajectory.

I expanded on my study of yoga by pursuing a yoga teacher training in 2013, and have since led over 1,000 hours of instruction throughout Washington, D.C., in Arizona and now online. My newsletter, Om Weekly, was created to share the teachings of yoga through a modern, practical lens and to explore the world and myself through both science-backed techniques and ancient philosophies. This project allowed me to meet and connect with thousands of readers and now to work with students from around the world; all of the issues are now archived here. My current newsletter, Threadkeeping, is about connecting to the delicate line of truth that guides your life.

I currently teach weekly public classes at Sol Center, balancing part-time yoga instruction and writing with a full-time career in digital marketing and communications. Ocassionally, I will host workshops, retreats or special courses. In my courses, I offer a variety of healing and exploratory modalities — including yoga-based shapes (asana), dancing, journaling, meditation, Tarot reading and nature walks. My goal is to help people tap into their innate curiosity to uncover their inner-most truth — so that they can courageously step into that truth through their decisions and actions.

My Teachers:

  • I received my yoga teacher training from Yoga District in Washington, D.C. under the lineage of Dharma yoga, which blends techniques from Hatha yoga and other styles with traditional yogic philosophy and meditation under the instruction of senior teacher, Aqeel Yaseen. Aqeel’s teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra, is a student of Swami Kailashananda.

  • My yoga nidra offerings are based on the technique adapted by Swami Satyananda Saraswati from the traditional tantric practice of nyasa.
